THE CUSTOM WEDDING

From the moment you contact me about your wedding/renewal, my focus is on you and the creation of a meaningful service that will make your wedding day memorable. We begin by establishing a rapport that will allow us to get to know each other. Through phone conversations, emails, and a questionnaire, I find out what kind of wedding you want, and I gain an understanding of your relationship. I will ask you questions about yourselves, how you met, what you love about each other, what makes your relationship special to you, what your dreams and goals are as a couple. I will sprinkle this information throughout your ceremony to make it a true reflection of you.

The following options are available on request:

• traditional Hawaiian style lei exchange

• explanation of the Hawaiian formation of a new Ohana (family) by the couple

• ring blessings

• unity service

• sand ceremony

• blessings for integrating two families

• readings that you choose

• vows that you create

• participation of friends and families in the ceremony

After I draft a potential service, I email it to you and ask you to read it over, and if you wish, edit, add or delete the parts that can be altered without changing the overall tone of the ceremony. We stay in contact by email/phone periodically prior to the wedding to continue establishing our relationship, so neither of us will be strangers on this important day in your lives. 

You have final approval of the service, but extensive re-writes or changes after the ceremony has been agreed upon may be subject to additional charges. Ideally, I would like to have the final approval of the ceremony within three (3) weeks of the wedding date. Last minute arrangements may incur additional charges.
